Step One in Alcoholics Anonymous

Admitted we were powerless over alcohol—that our lives had become unmanageable.

Step One in Living Free

I now see [admit] that I, of myself, am powerless, unable to control [manage] my life by myself.

The only way to do the next right thing is to not allow sin to control you. The only way to not let sin control you is to realize you are powerless to control it without God.
